Chapter XIII
Catus went straight to Regus’s office. His former friend wasn’t there, and Metellus Pollius Tullus told him Regus had left for the day. So, he went to Regus’s house.
Catus had never been to Regus’s home, not in all the days they had known each other, but he knew where it was. It lay in the nicest district of the city, with opulent domus all around it. By comparison, it was small, although Regus and Catalina lived better than ninety-eight percent of the city’s residents. It wasn’t quite as austere as Catus’s domus.
